One Two, Fox Lane, Oakley

The site comprised a dilapidated workshop. There were a number of design challenges set by retaining the existing house (as it was unviable to demolish) and working around an easement to the main sewer running across the land. Working closely with the local planning authority and by consulting local residents, Whiterok achieved planning permission for a new-build two-bedroom detached property.

The property comprises two reception rooms, WC and Kitchen accessed off a generous entrance hall, leading to the first floor accommodation via a winding staircase with gallery landing above. The first floor comprises two large bedrooms with ensuite and bathroom.

The building was designed as a modern interpretation of the chalet-style bungalows in the local area. The buiding is of a contemporary design with feature gable glazing, grey aluminium windows and  white render to compliment the existing building.
