Watercress Cottages, Sherborne St John

Whiterok designed the layout and housetypes for a development of seven homes with cartshed style carports in the local conservation area of Sherborne St John, Basingstoke. Whiterok obtained planning permission, discharge of conditions, NHBC approval and building control approval.

Due to the close proximity of the buildings to the watercress beds, surface water drainage attenuation was required alongside piled foundations. 

​

The buildings are of timber frame construction and benefit from high levels of insulation. 

​

The development by RJS Builders received the LABC Building Excellence award for the South East region and  shortlisted for the national award.
